It’s FRIDAY!  Woohoo!

  1. It’s going to be hot today, in fact, it’s already hot and it’s barely 10AM.  I don’t like HOT.
  2. The cat is doing really well.  He’s learned to let me sleep at night and occupies himself during the day when I’m trying to work.  He loves his throne and likes being by me but is OK with not being ON me.  :)   WooHoo!
  3. Did I mention it’s hot?
  4. My plants look like crap.  The heat is really destroying them and they look like I lost my green thumb. I’m so upset, I love my plants and now I have a bunch of scraggly looking things all over my front porch.
  5. People are annoying me today.  Other people are screwing things up for me and making things not work out like they should.  I’ll get through it, they are just annoying me.
  6. Last weekend I made some cool hair clips and when I showed some people I got a bunch of orders for them.  I’m excited.  I need to work on perfecting the design a little bit because I need to take it up a small notch to get the price I want for them.  But, I’m super excited.
  7. I also designed a pretty cool new product and had an awesome friend do a more professional design.  As soon as I get the raw material too her she’s going to work up a prototype to go to the test phase.  I already have orders for that if I can get the final design worked out and produced.
  8. It’s Friday and I have no plans for the weekend other than babysitting a friend’s kids.  This sucks.  I hate having no weekend plans, I usually end up sitting at home when that happens.
  9. My sister thinks she and my nephew might be moving up here.  If she does she’ll be living with me for a while while she gets settled.  Which means I need a bigger place.  Guess that’s one way to get away from the annoying upstairs neighbor.
  10. Did I mention that is HOT!?!

Have a great weekend!  :)

Last week Fred Meyer had these on sale for $1 each. So, I bought some for lunch. Looks OK, doesn’t it?

Yeah, so I cooked it and got this:

I’ll admit it tasted better than it looked. Although, I probably could have eaten two of them. Or, I could have made a salad to go with it…but that would have taken more work. LOL By the way, the reason you can’t see the yummy five cheese filling in MY picture like you can in the box top is because mine was only about 1/4 inch thick and covered by the mass of lasagna noodles. Oh well.

So, Jeeves really likes his job as Office Manager of Taylored Office Solutions. Unfortunately, the whole day doesn’t look like this.

I could handle that. I would gladly welcome him sitting in that spot all day watching me work and taking a nap (him taking a nap not me). Sometimes he actually spends his day like this. I’ll take that too. Heck, I don’t even mind when he gets on my chairback and lounges. But, NO. My lovely bundle of energy likes to run across my keyboard, then claw up my back to eat my hair, then fly off (because I yell at him because it HURTS) to mess up my perfectly organized piles of work. He’s crazy, I tell you. C-R-A-Z-Y!

But, I love him.

Jeeves has come to stay. That’s right. The nameless kitty has a name. Now, my Jeeves isn’t as helpful as his name would lead you to believe. But, bossy he is. He’s taken over the role of office manager for Taylored Office Solutions. Unfortunately, his idea of what work should look like and mine don’t always coincide, in which case he’s banished from the office. Although, I think he gets the good end of the deal there because I get stuck in the small, hot office with the door closed while he gets run of the house. Hmm….

But, the rest of the time he’s quietly observing to make sure I stay on task. I think he’s learned that the only way treats come his way if if Mama gets some work done. Not that the house is covered in cat toys or anything.

I know, I’m obsessed with the weather. LOL It’s actually beautiful out today. Well, sort of. I’m inside and there’s a cool breeze cooling off the house without the need for electricity which is really nice. :)

And, I’m slipping in a little cat fact: the rambunctious one slept last night. Or rather he let me sleep. :) Honestly, I don’t care what he does, I just want him to leave me alone when I’m getting my zzzzzz’s. He did that last night. He spent most of the night next to me on the other pillow so maybe he felt safe and didn’t need to make sure I was still aware that he was there.

OK, one more cat fact. I think I’m going with Tux. My niece liked Mr. Tux as his “official name” but Tux it is. Unless I change my mind in the next couple of days. LOL Oh, and the niece and nephew met him yesterday and he did great ad they LOVED him. :)

Now on to more interesting topics. Saturday I heard some disturbing news. A friend of my brothers is a pilot and reads the farmers almanac to stay up on weather issues. I guess they are predicting our next winter to be harder than this past winter. Hmmm…maybe that will scare enough people that they will move away from here. Honestly, I only hope it’s not a long winter. I don’t really want to deal with another October – June winter.

Don’t worry…I’ll spare you cat pictures today.  :)

Whoever said cats are independent creatures obviously hasn’t met my little bundle of energy.  I know he sleeps, he has to but I have yet to see him sleep because he’s always on me.  Seriously, this cat follows me EVERYWHERE.  I love having him around but could do without the 3AM play sessions…you know when HE thinks it’s time to play and can’t understand why I want him to go back to sleep.

I have a feeling this is how my work days will be from now on.  He’s completely fascinated by the movement on the monitor.  LOL  In fact, at this very  moment he’s attacking my monitor because something (ie the cursor) is blinking.  LOL  All I can say is it’s better than him trying to sit on my lap.

So, I’ve come up with two names now….not sure on them though…any input?

Pengui or Tux.  I like Tux and everyone who meets him says Tux.  But, if I go with Tux I want it to be short for something and Tuxedo doesn’t sound right.  Pengui is a penguin cartoon my niece likes but I kind of like the name so….  Any thoughts?

I do know one thing…life will never be the same around here.  :)

Yes, I did it. I got me a cat. He’s super cute, too. 12 weeks old. :) Still don’t have a name for him…although right now I’m leaning towards Tux. We’ll see….

Here’s a proud mama’s video of her new baby. :) Have fun. (And yes, we’re in the bathroom…he was a little overwhelmed with the big space of my place so we were getting acquainted in there…and no, it’s comfortable laying on the floor of the bathroom for over an hour — but it was worth it.)

Oh, and if you have any input on his name I’d love to hear it.
