I love my cat.  Seriously, I do.  He’s amazing, I love when he cuddles on my lap at night while I’m watching TV.  I love when I come home and he chases me around the house hugging my legs.  I love that there’s actually a living thing waiting for me at the end of the day or when I wake up.  What I don’t love is that he likes to play with the blinds at 3:00 in the MORNING.  I also don’t like that he wants to play with my head at 4:00 in the MORNING biting me and poking at me to wake up.  So, he has to sleep outside of my room with the door closed.

He doesn’t like sleeping in the living room by himself, but whatever.  When he learns to SLEEP until I’m ready to wake up then I MIGHT open the door again.  But, anyway, last night I went to bed and shut the door with him not in my room, or so I thought.  I heard him whining meowing a few times and he scratched a bit but he ALWAYS does that so I didn’t pay attention.  I went to sleep.  He did his normal whining meowing and scratching which he does every night begging to be near me.  Or so I thought.  When I woke up this morning I realized the noise wasn’t coming from outside my room but inside.  Inside the CLOSET.  My poor cat was locked in the closet all night.  :(

I got up to open the closet door and the bedroom door so he could get out and he just stood in the closet on my luggage GLARING at me.  He was so mad.  I went back to bed for a little bit and I guess he didn’t think I felt bad enough so he walked to the side of my bed and got on the rail and GLARED at me some more.

He’s fine, he survived.  My closet survived.  Maybe he’ll learn not to go in the closet any more.  I’m not holding my breath.

Do you ever wonder?  Do you ever ask yourself “Why’d I bother getting up this morning?”  Do you ever ask yourseld “Why’d I bother going to the office today?”  That’s me right now.  It’s not that I don’t have stuff to do.  I do.  I’m just not accomplishing ANYTHING today.  Stuff got done, just not by me.

My assistant took my library books back to the library for me.  She also went to the post office for me (but I did get the package ready to mail).  She also went to the office store to print my new brochures (but I did get the final draft finished — not that there was much to finalize since my VA did an awesome job on the original).    She also found five possible blog post topics for my business blog (but I did get one written and posted on my own).

I also planted some grapes on my Farm Town farm, harvested my sisters apple trees and cabbage field.  Hired someone to harvest my corn, apple trees, and potatoes and sold them at the marketplace.  I also planted new grapes and plowed the field to replant potatoes (or something else I’ll decide later) after the rest of the plants are harvested this evening.

To be honest, I think my problem is that I’m in a marketing mood today but I don’t “feel” like I should be in a marketing mood so I don’t feel like that’s what I SHOULD be doing…so I’m doing NOTHING.  Oh, wait, I take that back, I did send out ten letters inviting people to the networking event I’m participating in next week.

I guess I got stuff done…I just don’t feel like I have.  And let’s not talk about the fact that I just got up to get a MARKETING BOOK off the bookshelf because I thought it looked like a good read.

It’s nice out.  Maybe I’ll just grab a chair and the kids and watch them play outside while reading my book of choice for the day:  Guerrilla Marketing.

Oh my word, this is what my life has become…reading BUSINESS BOOKS FOR PLEASURE.

Uh oh, I hear the roar of little feet pounding up the stairs….I’m outta here.

My very dear friend, The Queen of Chaos, is having her first giveaway on her blog.  The prize ROCKS so be sure to go post a comment and tell her I sent you.  :)   Or don’t because then my odds are better.  LOL  :)

Ugh, this is my with my head in a bag, admitting that it’s been THREE months since I’ve posted.  Goodness, how did that happen?  Uh, I guess it’s this thing called life.  :(   A lot’s happened in those three months.  I’ll give you the highlights then tell you about the fun I had last night.

February ended with me being extremely busy with work.  So busy, in fact, that I had to hire an assistant in March.  She’s in college, super on it and comes to the office almost every day.  She rocks, I love it.  March also had me traveling down to Texas to visit a great client/friend, Candy of OffAssist in Austin then down to San Antonio to watch my amazing Goddaughter, Bethany, graduate form Air Force BMT.

Of course, if I had a better camera, OK, if I had a camera other than my phone I would have a better picture for you…but I’m still proud.  :)

April, of course, was the end of tax season and to say it was a blur is an understatement.  I survived it so that’s good.  :)   Tami found out in April that she got a job so she started the plans to get an apartment for her and Rider.  I’m excited that she has her own place and happy to have my place back but I miss them.  :)

May found me going to Miles City, MT for the Bucking Horse Sale and my mom’s cousin’s 45th anniversary party.  Both were a BLAST.

Bucking Horse Sale

I came home from that trip to an empty house and lots of work to get caught up on. I swear, sometimes I wonder if vacations are even worth it.

So, here we are to Memorial weekend.  Saturday I was L-A-Z-Y and it was GREAT.  Yesterday we took the boat out on a lake east of here then down the river.  It was SO much fun, except for the light sunburn I got.  But, even that isn’t too bad.  I also got to drive the boat for a while.  Brian would have let me drive longer but I was getting nervous because I didn’t know where we were going and I was getting close to the area that we had to paddle through on the way in because the grass was so high.

Last night I did the insane fun sleepover with ALL the kids.  Yes, I hosted a sleepover for a 2 1/2 year old, almost 5 year old and 5 1/2 year old.  It was a blast.  They got here around 8PM (which was the only bad part but we’d been on the boat all day) and we made homemade lemonade.  Then I downloaded Ant Bully off Netflix for us to watch.  We put the air mattress in the living room and all snuggled down on it to watch the movie.  Kyle and I fell asleep and the older two woke me up when the movie was over.  Then we went to bed.  Rider decided he wanted to sleep with me because “Ally wakes up to early”.  I couldn’t argue.  So asleep we went, at 11PM.  :(   Sigh.

Then, bright and early, Ally and Kyle woke me up at 6AM.  When will these kids learn to SLEEP IN?  Sheesh.  I got up with them and let Rider sleep. I downloaded Madeline on the computer for them to watch and fell back asleep in the living room while they watched their movie.  Rider woke up at the end of that movie and we made pancakes.  The first set were shaped with my pancake shapers (a bear head, heart, and star) but then we just ate circle pancakes.

After breakfast was cleaned up we watched Ant Bully again (well, they did, I fell back asleep).  When that was over they were hungry again so we had chocolate ice cream.  It’s a sleepover, who cares that it was 9AM.  Then we got dressed, and cleaned up for mommys to come.

Today, I’m playing my new favorite obsession game Farmtown on Facebook while Rider watches The Specatular Spider-Man marathon while his mom does some shopping.

So, there you have it.  My life the past three monhts in 700 words or less.
