Yeah, right.  Sigh.  I’m NOT  morning person.  Anyone who knows me knows that.  It’s just a fact of life.  Well, Saturday night I picked up a friend’s kids so she could go on the church staff retreat.  The kids are great.  Very polite, nice, and the boy (11) even took out my garbage yesterday for me with no arguments.  They even complimented me on my cooking last night.  It’s been great.  But, this morning I had to get up at 6:30AM to get them up.  And, 11 year olds don’t just get up when you say good morning.  No, you have to remind them a couple of times to get up.  I’m not used to that.

We got up and dressed without any problems and I drove them to school.  There school is across town from me.  Which isn’t a problem except that the oldest starts school at 8AM and the youngest at 9AM.  So, I dropped the oldest off at 7:30 (because he wanted to see his friends and, theoretically, so he could eat breakfast — although he admitted that doesn’t happen) then I took the youngest to get a donut.  Unfortunately the donut place was closed so we went to Safeway instead then I dropped her off.

Another thing some of you may not know but I’m neurotic about my house.  I don’t deal well with clutter.  It makes me nervous.  Well, despite my offering (many times) for them to sleep on the air mattresses in my office they wanted to sleep in the living room.  That’s fine, except that means there are pillow, sheets, blankets, air mattresses and dirty socks all over my living room.  Not to mention empty glasses and snack plates.  But, OK, it’s only  a couple days (if it was longer I would have insisted they sleep in the office).  Then I come in to my office to work and there are clothing articles all over.  Have you heard of a suitcase???  That’s where I keep my clothes when I’m traveling!  LOL

OK, seriously, I’m not complaining.  The kids are great, I’m having fun having them here (well, except the 6:30AM alarm).  I’m just neurotic.  I’m used to my simple, quiet, ordered life.  Disorder unsettles me — OK, it makes me crazy (although that’s pretty much an all-time thing for me LOL).

Oh, and I put the hooks up ALL BY MYSELF yesterday.  :)   So, now two of my hanging plants are hanging AND I put the hook up for my windchime out front.  :)   I’m really proud of myself.  The third hanging plant is going to stay on the ground…I might get a table or something for it but it’s heavy and I’m afraid it’s too heavy for a hook.  I really don’t want it to fall so I’d rather it stay on the ground.  :)   It looks fine as  a table plant so I’m not worried.

The windchimes sound nice.  :)   I have my window open and i can look outside and see the flowers and hear the chimes.  And, you can smell the flowers when you walk up.  All my neighbors have commented that they smell so good walking up the stairs.  :)   We’ve determined it must be mine…although it might be the lady next door.

Till later…

OK, so April’s showers didn’t bring my flowers but it’s May and I do have flowers.  LOL

My parents sent me money for my birthday that I was supposed to use for pedicure, but I decided today that I wanted flowers more.  So, I went to Lowe’s and they had great prices.  So, THANKS MOM & DAD!  :)

I brought them home (along with the super large jumbo heavy bag of potting soil) and planted them.  My back hurts but they look pretty.  Here are some pictures.

This is walking up to my front door.  The three round ones are hanging pots but I need someone to come help me put some more hooks up before I can hang them.  For now, they’ll stay there.  LOL

This is looking out the front door.  (duh)

Not sure if you can see them but there are a few pots that look like there is nothing in them.  They have some seeds that I started.  My neighbors insisted I keep them because they might still grow.  I didn’t have anything else to put in them so I left them.  We’ll see.

I was going to put some on the back patio but it gets so dang hot back there and the sun is so strong (direct western sun exposure) that I’m afraid they won’t survive.  I might move some back there later, though…we’ll see.

Are you impressed?  I know I am.

And, to impress you even more.  LOL  Here’s what I have in my kitchen window.  (But, you have to hear the story to really appreciate these.)

The one on the right I bought last year.  I seriously thought I’d murdered it.  The thing had one tiny little thing left and I almost tossed it.  But, I was determined and look at it now.  :)   WooHoo!  The other one…I started that from SEEDS.  Yes, you read that right.  Those were seeds a month ago and now it’s a gorgeous Basil plant.  Rock on me!

Are you thoroughly impressed?  I am.  I do have another plant I need to transplant but that will wait…I’m clean now and don’t feel like digging in the dirt any more today.

Till later…
this green thumb is going to go cool off (I think it’s about 95 here today — but NO I’m NOT complaining!)

I enjoy cooking and I enjoy getting coupons.  So, a few months ago I found that Kraft’s website has some great recipes and tips.  I subscribed to the website and got a nice perk, they send you an AWESOME magazine every season.  Here’s the cover of the Summer, 2008 edition:

Now, I’m a touchy feeling person so I like getting the hard copy magazine (plus it has coupons inside).  If you want it (it’s FREE) go here to subscribe for yourself.   If you prefer you can just look online for recipes and tips.

All the recipes, obviously, use Kraft items.  They are all SUPER simple and they always look so yummy.  :)

Enjoy…

And even better…

I’ve become addicted to Iced Coffee

iced coffee latte

I make them myself, but still….

They just taste so good.  :)   I want to make more right now but am trying really hard to control myself.

But,

yum…..

Person bashing their head into desk!

Not out of frustration or anger or panic.  No, I fell ASLEEP at my desk.  My head HIT the top of the desk waking me up.  Seriously!  Other than the fact that I haven’t been sleeping good for the past two+ weeks there is NO reason why my head and my desk should come into intimate contact at any point in time.

I think my life sucks right now.  I think I need to sleep tonight.

Till later…
