Don’t laugh at me, I’m in tears right now. I love candles, but I haven’t been able to burn them for a while because my brother doesn’t like them. I’ve dealt with it and since getting my place I’ve been burning them like crazy. I love it.

Well, I’ve had this one candle for a while now…a few years. But, I haven’t been able to burn it because you have to burn it for long periods of time. It’s a three wick candle — pretty much a commitment candle as I used to tell my customers. Well, I’ve been committed to it. I’ve been burning it today, watching it closely. I looked at it 20 minutes ago and it was fine. I got up to get more dinner and look what happened.

I know you probably think I’m crazy, but seriously, I’m in tears…I’m really upset. I can’t even buy a replacement because they don’t sell that color/scent any longer. I just want to scream. I want to break something then I want to cry some more.

Approximately 2600 people raced today. This is the bike to run transition station. It’s pretty amazing to watch the volunteers find and hand off the right bag to the racers so quickly. They have a pretty good system set-up. I couldn’t get a good picture with my camera phone — sorry. But, the number of bags is simply amazing.

Maybe next year I’ll….

volunteer for the event. LOL

I was able to watch the Ironman race today in Coeur d’Alene. A portion of the race went down the street I live on so I was able to watch some of the biking from my back patio. It’s pretty amazing to watch.

Honestly, I thought I would only want to watch from my balcony where I’d have to option to go inside when I got bored. But, when my brother and sister-in-law came to pick up my niece (last night was slumber party night) they wanted to go down to the street to watch it. You know, it was so much more inspiring being down there and looking the Ironmen and women in the face.

After a while we went downtown because my brother really wanted to see the transitions. This picture is one of the racers right after the bike to run transition. This guy is starting the 26.2 mile run after completing the 2.4 mile swim through chilly Lake Coeur d’Alene and biking 112 miles through hilly Coeur d’Alene and Hayden. He still had a smile on his face.

Can you imagine having the determination and drive to train and complete such a task.

Wow.

Sunday marks the annual Ironman Triathlon in Coeur d’Alene. Well, part of the bike portion goes right by my new house — blocking off the road to leave as it happens. Well, I’ve been wanting to have my niece over for our first slumber party at Auntie’s house so Saturday is it. I think it will be fun to sit on my balcony Sunday morning and watch the bikers ride by. They do two loops so we’ll be able to see them twice.

This weekend is also the city carnival so I thought we’d do that also. For a while on Saturday. Ally loves the rides and I have fun watching her ride them. Maybe her mommy and daddy will join us for that for a while. :)

I’m so excited to have her over for the night. She wants to sleep in “her room” (aka my office). So I need to bring one of my air mattresses over for her. I’ll probably bring them both because my sister and nephew will be here in 11 days for a week long visit. :)

moving that is. I’m SO done with the moving part of getting my apartment. I brought the last load that’s coming for a while over today. Up the stairs at my brothers into the car, drive the mile over here then down one flight of stairs from the parking spot to the apartment then up one flight of stairs to my second story unit. I’m SO done with that.

Unfortunately, I still have my craft stuff and my office to bring over. Sigh. Oh well, I think I’ll have a week off before I have to do those.

Now to just finish unpacking the rest of this stuff. Will it ever end??? I LOVE my new place, I am just tired of the moving aspect of getting in here.

So, I’ve spent two nights here now. The first night was a little rough because I left my bathroom window open. I’m backed up to a semi-busy street and had to listen to the traffic all night. Last night I closed the window and slept great. The place is really sound proof which is awesome!

The DirecTV was supposed to be installed today — but I don’t have a “direct view of the Southern skies” so I won’t be able to get DirecTV. :( Now I have to figure out an alternative. The only other cable I know of is Time Warner which I’m not too thrilled with because then I won’t get FOX which I like. But, I’ll see what happens. In the mean time I’m getting cable somehow. Either the last people didn’t turn it off or they cable people have goofed. It’s not perfect but I get something.

Now I just need to be patient until the DSL gets turned on and I can move my office over here. It won’t happen fast enough.

I went grocery shopping today. It’s nice having food in the refrigerator. I can eat and actually have choices.

Great times!
