You know, before I moved to Idaho I knew in my heart, beyond a shadow of a doubt that God wanted me to be here. I didn’t know exactly why. I didn’t know exactly what was going to happen. I still don’t. But I knew, without question, that I was supposed to come. I didn’t doubt it. I didn’t question it. I was a little afraid but knew it was what He wanted me to do so I just trusted and went. I’ve now been here for 16 days and let me tell you what’s happened in that short amount of time.
When I arrived back home there was a message from an outreach person from the church I’d visited. I called her and we spoke for just short of an hour. I made absolutely certain that I met her the following Sunday at church and since we’ve become friends. She invited me over for tea and we ended up talking for over 3 ½ hours. (I wasn’t planning on being there that long…but we get along great.)
Then, last Saturday, she invited me to a Bible study she goes to. Honestly, I wanted to say no, but I sucked it up and said yes. Then she proceeded to tell me that it is a large Bible study and they place you in groups based on your age/marital status etc so we probably wouldn’t be in the same group. At first, I’ll admit, I was a little leary but then I got excited. So, last week I went and had the orientation into the group. (It’s a Bible Study Fellowship group…lots of homework.) At the orientation the lady said that they only had a couple groups with openings…at the time I was looking out at two groups of older women…like my grandmas age older. So, I smiled and looked back at her just as she added…and the openings just happen to be in your age group. I wanted to do a little dance right then and there…but controlled myself and was planning on skipping to the car but it was snowing so hard I chickened out because I didn’t want to land on my behind.
I think you all know that I’m working on building my Virtual Assistant business. Well, I found out last week that I was accepted into a free mentorship program led by leaders in the VA world. I started talking with my mentor earlier this week and she’s awesome. I’m so excited about really making this a success. Well, when we came up here in October I met a friend of Faye’s mom’s who is a realtor at a larger realty office here in town. I told her what I do and she was really excited. So, Tuesday afternoon I brought her some business cards to pass out to the realtors in her office. Today I got a call from the office manager that she wants me to come in and do a presentation for the entire office on my services!!! We’re scheduled for me to do it the first Wednesday in April. Which, at first I was a little bummed about that it wasn’t sooner but, my mentor is working with me on building a more professional image (web, logo, brochures etc.) and on really getting a lot of the business stuff put together to make this work. We should be done by the end of March which means God’s timing is PERFECT for this presentation.
So, in 16 days I’ve found a new chiropractor that I love, learned to drive in the falling snow, caught snowflakes on my tongue J (sorry, but it was fun LOL), made a friend, joined a Bible study, made a new business contact, scheduled a presentation that will possibly lead to many more business contacts, and got to see a bald eagle.
I still don’t know why God brought me here. But, I know it’s for a good reason and I’m so excited to see what happens next.
Till Later…
