So, it’s Sunday. Hopefully you had a chance to look at the pictures I posted. Some were taken quite a while ago, obviously since there’s no snow on the ground. The rest were taken this past week. I hope you really appreciate the ones I took today (the ones of the exterior of the house) because it was a whopping 24 degrees when I wondered my way outside to take the pictures. I donned my new snow boots so trekking through the snow to the back part of the property wasn’t too bad. Man, those things sure keep your feet warm and dry. I got to try out the new jacket I bought yesterday too. It was perfect with the sweater I was wearing.

I did get up and go to church this morning. The church was a little further away than I thought and I kind of left a few minutes later than I’d planned. But, I got there in time. The building is nice and the music was great. However, I can’t say that they had the friendliest people. L I am not going to make an opinion on the church by the pastor since he is a visiting pastor while they look for a new one to call. But, feeling welcomed would have been nice. I’m not 100% convinced it’s the church that I want to call my own but I’m not going to write it off just yet either.

I think I might have gotten my hopes up a little too much or my expectations were too high for the church. I think because everyone here is so friendly everywhere else that I just expected the church to be the same. But, it wasn’t. I expected people to actually talk to me, greet me, ask about me. The best I got was the person in front of and behind me shook my hand during the greeting time right before they took off for the other part of the church to talk to other people. Then, after service the man in front of me literally talked over my head to the lady behind me completely ignoring the fact that I was there. I finally walked out and no one would even look at me. The elder was standing at the door and shook my hand and said “have a great day” as I walked out but didn’t even try to say anything else. I was pretty disappointed.

Plus, I’m lonely. Brian and Faye left early Friday morning and I’ve been alone since then and I don’t know anyone here so I was really hoping I might get to meet someone there. I think that’s where I went wrong…I think I really hoped the people would be friendly and someone would say “hey, wanna go to Taco Bell?” It sucks eating alone for three days straight. I had a few different people tell me how great the church was. I was really disappointed. Everywhere I go people are so friendly. Then I go to the church where I kind of expected people to be friendly and it was the one place that I didn’t get that warm-fuzzy feeling.

After church I came home and took the pictures of the outside of the house and got them posted. Then I finished the fronts of my Christmas cards. So, much for starting them way back in September. <<sigh>> I still have to do the inside sentiment stamp then sign, address, and mail them. Maybe they’ll get out before Christmas but I doubt they’ll be received before Christmas. Oh well. No one can really complain…I’ve only received one card this year.

My hair cut ended up not being as bad as I thought. I still probably won’t go there again but I’m able to make it work for me.

I did have company today! :) Cindi, Faye’s mom’s friend, stopped by to bring our mail. She didn’t stay for long but it was nice to have someone come to the front door. Speaking of the front door, we really need to fix the door bell. I have FedEx coming back tomorrow because I didn’t hear them ring the door bell on Friday. And the DirecTV people are coming on Tuesday and I sure hope I hear them so they don’t think no one’s here.

Oh, yeah, the tales of my fire building. Well, I failed today. :( I tried, really I did, but I failed. Oh well. There’s always tomorrow…or the heater. LOL

Well, I bought stuff for hot chocolate. I think I’m going to watch another movie, indulge in some hot cocoa and finish my Christmas cards. :)

Till later…don’t forget to leave me a comment…I like knowing people are reading what I’m writing and sharing in my adventures. :)
